The 'Magic" Words That Throw a Spotlight on Complete B$

Any variation on these words, that indicate a source is anonymous.

If someone in government believes a story to be true, but is NOT willing to put his/her name on it, it's self-serving B$.

Perhaps there should be a rule that ALL stories that do not cite a source directly need to be printed in bright RED ink (or the web equivalent of ink). I think you would find that MOST stories with a political slant are scarlet.
