It's been slow - VERY slow. The Official Media and the Leftist Powers have be working together to keep the facts about the 2020 election from becoming widely known.
They continue to throw up half-truths and complete lies, and, I hate to say it, the average person is simply not savvy enough to see through their Official Story about the Cleanest, Most Honest Election, Evah!
I'd not heard of the Kony story before. When he was active in Africa, I was more focused on work and a long commute, my new home and the upgrades and repairs it needed, housework and other chores, and visiting family as often as we were able.
This story about mobilizing children on social media for a partisan activity is news to me.
The War in Ukraine continues to dominate the news. The President of that country is everywhere on the news with gushing newsreaders extolling his wonderfulness.
Now, in comparative terms, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not a horrible person or president. That comparison is only to other autocrats of corrupt governments (most of them). He is still overbearing, corrupt, and running his government as a means to allow the wealthy to plunder its wealth for their own benefit.
But, autocracy is the order of the day, whether Left, Center, or Right, or some other combination, MOST governments in the world function as wolves "protecting" the sheep.
But, Zelensky is no Angel, let's not forget. That I did delight in the impertinence of the Zelensky defiance of Russia's demands to surrender is no reason not to view his duplicity and avarice as anti-democratic.
But, considering that Putin is no better, and probably worse, yeah, I'm - somewhat - supporting Ukraine. At least to the extent of being willing to send him arms (preferably through intermediaries). I'm most in favor of letting the EU bear the brunt of this fight, both monetarily and with soldiers.
Like many people, I immediately responded with a visceral reaction when the first news of the Russian invasion hit. It was an emotional FEELING. That's the way humans are wired - our primitive brain overrules our thinking brain, and floods us with chemicals that reinforce our first response.
Pretty much everyone around us responds the same way. This agreement reinforces our first response. For many of us, the desire to remain consistent to our first response overrides our rational brain, and leads us to make some very questionable decisions.
This is turning out to be one of those miscellaneous posts.
Which is not bad.
We don't live in a world that allows us to focus on just one issue or event. We live in Real World, where I may chose to keep the televised or streamed news out of my house. Where the house needs cleaning, the laundry needs done, and the taxes have to move to the top of my To Do list.
A world in which our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration is more important than the Russian-Ukraine conflict. One that allows us to plan on a visit to a friend, setting time aside for church and brunch after with family, and interspersed with shopping, both online and off.
And, some light reading. Not just that which comprises my weekly book club assignments, but deliciously frivolous murder mysteries and thrillers. Life is not worth living without some of those delights.
